The post that struck a nerve

Hi Reader,

This week, a blog post I shared on LinkedIn about evidencing inclusion from September 2026 started a bigger conversation than I expected. Read it here

The part people seemed to connect with most was this:It is no longer enough to say, “we responded.” The better question is: What became safer, clearer, more regulated, more trusted or more workable afterwards?

That question matters for schools. It matters for families. It matters for leaders carrying the pressure of both. Because so often, the visible issue is not the whole story.

A child is absent.
A parent sounds angry.
A member of staff feels overwhelmed.
A SEND need becomes harder to hold.
A behaviour pattern keeps repeating.
A conversation that should build trust starts to break it.And everyone involved may be trying.

Without a shared map, the same pressure keeps landing in the same place. That is why I created the September Pressure Map. It is a simple tool to help you spot the repeated “hot windows” before they become bigger escalation points.

Not a heavy programme.
Not another policy.
Not a judgement on what you are already doing.

Just a practical way to pause and ask:Where does pressure keep repeating?

Who gets pulled in?
What is it costing emotionally, relationally or operationally?
What would make this moment safer, clearer or more workable?
How would we know if the pressure had reduced?

For schools and MAT leaders, it can help identify where attendance, SEND, behaviour, staff capacity and parent trust are overlapping.
For SENCOs, inclusion and pastoral leads, it can help name the repeated moments that are already known but not always tracked.
For parents and carers, it gives language for the moments where family life, school communication or support starts to strain.
And for leaders, it creates a route from firefighting to evidence:noticed → decided → changed → tracked

That is the work AmbiSense® is here to support.AmbiSense® helps schools, families and organisations identify repeated pressure points and build human-fit pathways that reduce overwhelm, restore trust and help people function better. If you have not downloaded the map yet, you can get it here:

If one pressure point already came to mind as you read this, that is usually the place to start. You can reply with HOT WINDOW and a few lines about what keeps happening.I read every reply.

Kindest wishes,
