When family life keeps breaking down in the same places....

Hi Reader,

If family life keeps breaking down in the same places, it can start to feel like you’re failing.

The hard mornings.
The after-school explosions.
The screen-off arguments.
The shutdowns, meltdowns, school worries, bedtime battles, parent-school tension, guilt, guessing and emotional exhaustion.

And when you’re parenting a neurodivergent pre-teen or teen, those moments can become even harder to hold.

Not because you don’t care enough.
Not because you’re not trying hard enough.
But because you may be firefighting without a map.

That is why I’m introducing SENSE Friends.

SENSE Friends is a practical, compassionate parent/carer space from AmbiSense® for families navigating neurodivergence, overwhelm, repeated pressure points and daily life that keeps getting messy.It is being built for parents and carers who want support that feels human, clear and usable, not another heavy programme, judgement, or set of impossible expectations.

The heart of SENSE Friends is simple:

The behaviour is the signal, not the whole story.

When family life breaks down in the same places, something is usually being shown.

A hot window.
A pressure point.
A missing bridge.
A child who is overloaded, not simply “refusing”.A parent who is exhausted, not failing.

A family system that needs support that actually fits real life.

SENSE Friends will help you:

notice where family life keeps breaking down;
understand what behaviour may be signalling;
spot repeated pressure points without blame;
build small Calm Bridges™ that reduce heat;
prepare for school/SENCO conversations with more clarity;
repair after hard moments;notice progress without expecting perfection;
feel less alone in the messy middle.

This is not therapy.
It is not diagnosis.
It is not clinical, safeguarding, SEND, social care or crisis support.It is practical parent/carer support for the everyday moments where you need a bit more clarity, steadiness and human-fit guidance.

Because sometimes the question is not:“How do I fix my child?”

It is:

“What is this moment showing us and what small bridge would make it easier to hold?”

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about SENSE Friends, including practical prompts around:

hard mornings;
after-school crashes;
school avoidance / EBSA;
meltdowns and shutdowns;
screen-time conflict;
parent guilt and burnout;
repair after shouting;
SENCO and school conversations;supporting neurodivergent teens without making them feel controlled.

If this already feels like something you need, you can reply to this email with the word SENSE.

No polished explanation needed.
Just SENSE is enough.I’ll know you’d like to hear more as it opens.

Warmly, Naomi
